“Rural Health Rocks Presents: Music is Medicine” was held at Mendocino College on Saturday, June 15. It included a farm-to-table dinner catered by Black Dog Farm as well as dessert by the Mendocino College Culinary Arts Program, both served al fresco in the college quad.
Dinner was followed by a rockin’ concert in the Mendocino College Center Theatre, which highlighted Mendocino County's incredible talent under the musical direction of local legend Alex DeGrassi.
This first-of-its-kind event was a celebration of local health heroes, present and future. The 2019 Rural Health Rock Stars were honored, and the inaugural class of the Adventist Health Ukiah Valley Family Medicine Residency program was welcomed with a White Coat and Stethoscope ceremony.
Stay tuned for details about next year's celebration of local health heroes and the induction of the second class of Family Medicine resident doctors.
